It's been like 2 years or almost that I have been on hiatus. So many things have happened, I got caught up on a job permanently. Assigned on the hinterlands or what one principal told me farflung station and got reassigned again. Things have been quite well to me now. But anyways this isn't about me, getting well but getting back on track on writing and of course sharing my adventures for the past year/s , whatever.
Let's get a little backlog on my journey last year .
My sister and her highschool colleagues started the plan on going on trips, I was just the one insisting to come and enjoy of course the little pleasures of life besides my lesson logs and class records.
Thank you Ate's friends for pulling this trip off on my bucket list . It's one hell of a road and boat trips. Thank you God for wonderful people.
When you are going to enter the Province of Mati, Davao Oriental , you'll be welcome by the
SLEEPING DINOSAUR
It's like an island shape like that of a body of a dinosaur
The trip was quite long that we took almost 14 hours to reach the place. Not to mention, we passed by Davao City and took another 4-hour drive all the way here.
This is just an entrance to how amazing Mati is and I tell you It's worh the long drive...
with ZEBERT
with Ate Maffi (we look alike here)
With the whole MATI group
Finally Reached the centerpoint.
Upon reaching this place , we never took an advance reservation, we just randomly pick up and search through our phones about where to say for a night here. It seemingly is much better to have a little bit of spontaneity on trips. You could spend less.
Day 2, we decided to go island hopping. Honestly , we relied mostly on google maps during this trip, We actually got lost and met the end of the road. This is crazy, I know, it ate most of our time. hahaha . Bit we never gave up .
Tadaaah
An hour boat trip to the island right behind me ...
I didn't know that much of the other islands has its owner na pala .
(I wonder how much each island costs?) hahaha
I am in Awestruck, I could almost kiss the sand . Much whiter than the White sand of Camiguin.
Me: Trying to be giddy! Who doesn't want to jump on the crystal clear blue water, right ?
Ooop , by the way , the island's name was PUJADA ! :)
(Nognog peg)
We then decided to go to DAHICAN, a must for surfers.
A surfing destination in Mindanao. Another one for the Book !
Never tried though just want to get a picture ! hehehe
I never thought I would see familiar faces here , there so much Ateneans that came to visit.
Our group never knew that it was the annual SUMMER-FROLIC party.
There were many who bought their tents with them and stayed the night.
Coconuts, drinks and booze, the salty sea and its breeze and the huge waves is must in DAHICAN!
Not to mention, here in Mati you can experience cheap thrill foods aside from that it really is delicious!
Next Stop: SUBANGAN
a museum where its highlights were the bones of a sperm whale
It was actually so big . Entrance fee in the museum is just 50 php.
The museum also caters Davao Oriental's cultural roots and heritage .
History preserved at its finest, I must say.
Thank You Mati!
We then head back to Davao City proper ...
Who wouldn't want to visit our President's hometown right?
This was supposed to be Matina Town Square.
Then changed to Duterte Town Square to honor and support Rodrigo Duterte's Presidency.
We then visit D' leonor Park / Resort
It's not only a park but it also consists of a wave pool in it.
No photos of it because there was an entrance fee not inclusive to the entrance prior to the main gates. hehehe
This should be a place to visit in Davao !
This sums up my Mati Trip.
Ciao,
XOXO,
